The Zoombox Boom!
Zoombox may seem like the even more up-to-date version of the boom box. If you would like to know more about them, your exploration may lead you down a very different path. The word seems to conjure this vision of someone walking down the street in the Bronx with this music box on his shoulder. Blaring music that only he wants to hear but feels the need to share and that no one really understands. But is it just another name for your average DVD player. It is not just a DVD player or a CD player it is also a video recorder, better known as the Zoombox!
This product has been developed by a company called Hasbro and my research tells me that there are a couple of disadvantages attached to this “box”. One of these disadvantages is that it tends to overheat making the need for it to be somewhere cool and with a fan on it as a necessity. And who wants to constantly be thinking of that when you are watching a movie? The second disadvantage that I have come across is that the light that it contains is not as bright as it could be – or rather according to other systems which are much brighter. Lighting seems to be a very important feature on every single one of the Zoombox projectors out there. However, you also need to take into account why you are purchasing this product and for what reason you are going to use it. In some spaces the less light that you have the better, in movie theatres for example.
It is essential that you take some time to go onto the net and review the comments of other consumers; in this way you will be able to establish if there have been any well documented problems. People tend to be very vocal about a product, especially if there are problems! So the reviews should not be hard to find, even if you are a novice on the web. You could also ask around with your family and friends and see whether they have heard anything of use to you.
Now let us consider what kind of market would someone make these products for? Well considering the disadvantages, and the relatively cheap price (which is an added bonus) these systems were made for the teenagers. You could easily get away with providing this piece of equipment to your five year old for their entertainment, perhaps listening to those nursery rhythms! Also, young teenagers can spend hours watching their favorite DVDs, while you sit back and relax with the knowledge that you haven’t spent an absolute fortune.
Each projector comes standard with its set of easy-to-follow instructions and safety regulations. Included in this manual are the directions to the best possible placement of your system! Now that we are speaking placement, you should consider the surface covering as well. When next you think: “What can I get my child or teenager for Christmas,” think Zoombox!
